Nick Lachey Dating Advice

Washington, Jan 14: Singer Nick Lachey has a piece of advice to his legion of female fans and to women in general – don’t hold grudges.

Lachey, who has been dating MTV presenter Vanessa Minnillo ever since splitting up from singer Jessica Simpson, admits that women are not an easy species to love.

And, if there’s one trait of theirs that irks him the most, it would be the fairer sex’s ability to remember arguments, and hold long-time grudges.

Lachey insisted that if women wanted their relationships to work, they would have to stop opening up old wounds every time a new argument breaks out in their homes.

"(They) have the memories of elephants. You don't forget arguments. I mean stuff will come up from a year ago. Let. It. Go," Contactmusic quoted him, as saying. (ANI)

Nick Lachey named Fun Fearless Male of the Year

NEW YORK — Nick Lachey and Eva Mendes have been named Fun Fearless Male and Female of the Year by Cosmopolitan magazine.

The stars grace a double cover in the magazine's February issue. Mendes is pictured on the front wearing a sky blue dress followed by a second cover featuring Lachey in a button-down shirt and jeans.

Lachey, 33, had a 2006 hit album, What's Left of Me, which used his broken marriage with Jessica Simpson as inspiration.

"I've certainly gotten my share of criticism from people who are like 'how could you talk about all that? It's so undignified,'" he says in an interview with the magazine.

"For me, it was the greatest thing I could do to let my guard down and be willing to expose my emotions and put them into music. Especially when going through an experience like divorce, you have to find some outlet to get that out of your system or it'll eat you up."

Mendes, 28, has starred in films such as Training Day and Hitch, and will be seen opposite Nicolas Cage in the thriller Ghost Rider, a Sony Pictures release, which is slated to open in theaters Feb. 16.

"I took a risk with acting. ... You just always have to take risks," she tells the magazine. "I always go with my gut, and it's always right. People are scared to do that."

Nick buys a piece of the Tacoma Rainiers

A sweet-sounding pop star will apparently have a voice in the new direction of the Tacoma Rainiers.
Nick Lachey, who appeared with ex-wife Jessica Simpson in the couple’s “Newlyweds” reality show on MTV, will be a part of the Rainiers’ ownership group, Schlegel Sports Group, spearheaded by Kirby Schlegel of Dallas.

Principal figures of the new ownership group, including Lachey, will be introduced to a group of 100 civic leaders, local business people and holdover season ticketholders of the minor-league baseball team Wednesday at the Greater Tacoma Convention and Trade Center.

It will be ownership’s first public appearance since agreeing with former club owners George and Sue Foster in July to purchase the team and having the sale of the team approved by various sanctioning bodies, including the Pacific Coast League, late last month.

Lachey, a native of Harlan, Ky., was a member of the popular pop-music band 98 Degrees in the mid-1990s and has since flourished as a solo artist. He was nominated in the favorite pop/rock male artist category at the 2006 American Music Awards.

Rumors of a “celebrity” joining the Schlegel Sports Group as a minority owner surfaced in July.

Lachey, 33, is an avid golfer and sports fan. Last weekend, he stood on the sidelines of the USC-Notre Dame football game in Los Angeles. He occasionally contributes a column on the sports page of the Cincinnati Enquirer, his hometown paper.

He is expected to join majority owners Kirby and Bob Schlegel; Mike McCall, the president of Schlegel Sports Group; and Rainiers general manager Dave Lewis at the introductory ceremony at 9 a.m.

The Schlegel Sports Group, which also owns two minor-league hockey teams in Texas and Iowa, has been involved in day-to-day Rainiers operations for more than a month, Lewis said.

The Rainiers’ first game is April 5 at Sacramento.

On Wednesday, the management group will talk about issues facing the franchise entering the 2007 season.

“It’s going to be exciting for people in Tacoma to see who the new owners are and what plans they have for (Cheney Stadium) and the Rainiers and what vision they have,” Lewis said. “Nobody has done that before.”

Newlyweds a DUMB IDEA says Nick

CBS) Nick Lachey admits that choosing to do the MTV reality show "Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica" with then-wife Jessica Simpson might not have been a good decision.

"It was among the dumber ideas I think I've ever seen executed in history," said the singer, in an appearance Wednesday on "Late Show With David Letterman."

"For a while we actually enjoyed doing the show," he added, "(but) it just got to a place where it was so invasive, it became a problem."

Simpson and Lachey were divorced on June 30, 2006, after almost three and a half years of marriage. Their reality show ran for three seasons.

Nick Lachey on doing the reality show "Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica"
Lachey said that it's too soon after the breakup for him to determine exactly what caused the end of his marriage, but he does think that being under the scrutiny of the reality show's cameras was certainly a factor.

So, are they friends now?

"I think both of us have handled it about as well as we possibly could under the microscope that we're under," he said. "I think, with time, it will give us a better opportunity to redefine our relationship."

His latest album, "What's Left Of Me," includes the singles "I Can't Hate You Anymore" and "Resolution," in addition to the title track.

"The new album was certainly inspired by a lot of what I was going through in my personal life," said Lachey.

Despite the very public split, Lachey hasn't given up on romance.

"It hasn't squashed my concept of love or marriage," he said. "I think that certain situations are meant to work out and others aren't, and unfortunately, this one wasn't."

Lachey said he's moved on and is dating but has decided to learn from the past and keep his private life private.

Lately, he's been frequently photographed with television personality Vanessa Minillo, who appears in the video for "What's Left Of Me."

Nick on Marriage

Nick Lachey wants to get married again as soon as his divorce from Jessica
Simpson is finalised.
The star, who shot to fame on reality TV show 'Newlyweds' with the
singer-turned-actress, admits he would love to tie the knot again despite
his first attempt at marriage being a failure.
He told America's Access Hollywood TV show: "For me, a phase was certainly
going through that emotion of not wanting to marry again. But I'm a romantic
at heart. I don't want to be a 'serial marrier' but at the same time, I just
can't imagine not being married again."
Nick has also denied claims he has a new woman in his life.
The pop singer has been linked to a host of beauties since splitting from
Jessica last year, including 'Laguna Beach' star Kristin Cavallari and
beauty queen Elizabeth Arnold, who was named Miss Kentucky USA in 2002.
However, he insists he is definitely single at the moment but is looking for
love.
Nick, who is gearing up to release a new solo album, added: "I certainly do
not have a girlfriend. My girlie has been my work, which has been a real
blessing through this."

Nick Lachey Reveals 'What's Left of Me'
Friday, May 05, 2006

NEW YORK — Are you reeling from a painful breakup? Going through a divorce? Unwilling to let go of an erstwhile lover?

If so, then Nick Lachey's new solo album, "What's Left of Me," could prove cathartic; If not, it might leave you a bit depressed.

Lachey's much-publicized split from Jessica Simpson has released an avalanche of media speculation, rife with rumors of infidelity and other marital woes. Recently, Lachey revealed that Simpson had dumped him, but he still loves her and would marry her again.

The disc -- a somber, soulful, angsty collection of 12 ballads -- is a slickly produced, raw-nerved confessional of his heartbreak and an open letter to Simpson.

In "Shades of Blue," one of the album's best tracks, Lachey pines for a lost love, foolishly awaiting her return. He asks, "Why did you have to leave? Why did you have to set me free? Why did you have to go?" But he takes an angrier tone in "I Do it For You," expressing his wish to see her "bleed and see how it feels."

Nice work, Jess. This guy's a wreck.

Realizing that he must move on ("I don't want to waste another day stuck in the shadow of my mistakes"), the title track has Lachey telling a potential lover to make him "whole once again."

His brooding songs, sung in a clear tenor, span different stages of grief, sometimes within the same track -- there's resentment, regret and acceptance in "I Can't Hate You Anymore" -- until he reaches his "Resolution," pledging his commitment to let go. Finally.

Set to a pop soundtrack, his pain becomes palpable, raw, universal. His pain becomes ours.

But do we really want to feel it?
